Fox Windows and Doors Timeline
Meet the founders
Fox Windows & Doors was set up by Richard Hanson and Neil Bird, bringing together their experience in the sector, their local knowledge and a shared belief that standards in the glazing sector should be higher.
They had worked together since 2004 and understood each other’s strengths. Richard knew that if he was going to build something new, it had to be with the right person. He asked Neil if he fancied setting up a business together.
Thankfully, he said yes.
And Fox Windows and Doors was born.

Fox is established
Richard and Neil establish Fox Windows & Doors with aspirations to raise standards in the glazing sector.
There was no office, no website and no existing customer base. Richard knocked on doors across Binley Woods, Baginton and Bubbenhall, initially taking enquiries for replacement glass, while Neil prepared for installations.
Built on hard work, honest advice and quality workmanship, Fox was founded on doing things properly.
Building Trust and Capability
Fox grows through recommendation. As trust builds locally, the business outgrows its early lock ups and takes up its first office space whilst continuing to invest in better products and deeper technical expertise.
The range expands into premium aluminium systems, composite doors and more complex glazing solutions, supported by stronger manufacturer partnerships and improving processes.
The Fox Showroom Opens
The former Farmers Weekly building on Stoneleigh Park is transformed into the Fox showroom. The space is extended to create a welcoming environment where customers can see products clearly, compare options side by side and discuss their project in a calm, no pressure setting.
The showroom becomes central to how Fox works and reflects the company’s commitment to helping customers make the right choice for the home.
Staying Reliable and Strengthening the Business
During a challenging period for the industry, Fox focuses on delivery. Clear communication, safe working practices and dependable supplier relationships reinforce reliability, knowledge and consistency.
Customer trust continues to grow.
Raising Standards While Growing
As projects become more detailed and demand increases, Fox sharpens its focus on installation quality, finishing standards and aftercare.
Investment in people, training and systems supports continued growth without compromising the standards the business was built on. Five star reviews become the norm.
Showcasing Quality and Sharing Expertise
Fox invests in a new website and a stronger digital presence to better showcase the quality of its work. Real installations, photography, video and customer feedback help homeowners see what is possible and make informed decisions with confidence.
The business continues to grow year on year and begins exploring plans for larger storage premises to support its next stage of development.
10 years of Fox in the Midlands
Fox marks 10 years of business in the Midlands, supporting local homes and employing local people.
To mark the anniversary, Fox chooses The Myton Hospices as its charity for the year, in loving memory of a much loved former colleague, Peter Gray, and in recognition of the vital care and support Myton provides to people and families across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Ten years on, the focus remains the same: raise standards, support customers and keep improving.
